Sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE) inclusion for immigrant and refugee serving organizations

Provide inclusive settlement services for diverse SOGIESC newcomers.

In this workshop, participants will learn more about intersecting identities and the unique vulnerabilities of sexual and gender diverse newcomers to Canada. We will review inclusive terminology as well as the Canadian human rights protection of SOGIE-diverse newcomers.

Throughout the session, you will be able to identify and work through challenging scenarios that you or your organization may be experiencing. You will leave with practical ways to create more positive, respectful and safe organizational spaces and knowledge of additional SOGIE-specific resources and referrals.
